- TOO MANY THINGS TO PACK
The daunting where to start question is something many of us face when moving home. A great starting tip is to clear out, rehome or donate what you don’t want to move into your new home. This starting point does not only make your packing up easier but your unpacking as well!
- NOT ENOUGH TIME
First things first, you’ve got to put all your stuff in boxes and that seems an impossible task. It would have been perfect if you had done it little by little, over the course of several weeks but not everyone can make the time. A good place to start is to pack up rooms and or items which are not vital to everyday, these can be packed up far in advance which will give you more time closer to your move. Ask for help, we can supply tried and tested packers who will help you not only pack but wrap as well.
- SEPARATE YOUR IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS UPFRONT.
Losing important documents such as your passport or insurance papers can happen when we’ve got so many boxes and papers around. Start upfront with placing all your important must have documents in a separate packing space which will provide easy access and more importantly peace of mind.
- GETTING THE KIDS SORTED
As exciting as a new home can be for the kids, moving can be a difficult experience for your children as they are leaving their familiar environment. If possible walk the kids through their new home before moving, talk about their new living space and engage with them planning their rooms. A big help is to move their key items first and set up an environment they can identify i.e. Beds, linen, favourite toys all go a long way to making them feeling settled.
